The Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) was created as part of the National Childhood Vaccine Injury act of 1986 to provide restitution to people who suffer a vaccination injury.

Vaccine injuries are very rare, but can happen as a result of any vaccine. Most people will not experience a vaccine injury, but because adverse reactions are possible, the VICP was set up to provide compensation.

The VICP is a no-fault alternative to the traditional tort system. Claims are filed in a federal vaccine court. A vaccine injury attorney can be obtained to ensure claims are properly filed. The VICP will pay for the vaccine injury attorney and other legal costs related to the claim, regardless of whether or not vaccine compensation is awarded.

Filing a vaccine compensation claim may be less difficult than filing a traditional tort claim, but it can still be a daunting process for someone who is overcoming the side effects of a vaccine-related injury.  Let a vaccine injury lawyer file your vaccine compensation claim while you focus on your recovery.
