Philadelphia Personal Injury Attorney Thomas Anapol of Anapol Schwartz was instrumental in the negotiation of yet another metal-on-metal (MOM) hip implant settlement.

A global settlement for Stryker Rejuvenate and ABG failed hip implants was announced on November 3, 2014 by Superior Court Judge Brian R. Martinotti in Bergen County, NJ after months of negotiations before retired U.S. magistrate Judge Diane Welsh of JAMS in Philadelphia. Anapol was appointed by Judge Martinotti as part of the negotiating team that reached the largest per case average MOM settlement to date.

The settlement provides a base award of $300,000 for each failed Stryker hip implant. Additional compensation will be provided to individuals who experienced complications during revision surgery or suffered other damages. Compensation will also be provided to patients who need a revision but are not medically able to undergo the surgery.

Anapol was also at the forefront of negotiating the February 2014 Biomet metal-on-metal hip implant settlement that provides for a $200,000 base award for recipients of a failed Biomet hip. Anapol served as co-lead counsel in the Biomet Hip Implant Litigation with Mark Lanier.

The Stryker lawsuit settlement applies to individuals who have undergone a revision of as November 3, 2014. Recipients of a failed Stryker hip who have not yet undergone a revision may still be eligible to file a Stryker hip lawsuit. If you suspect that you or a loved one has a faulty Stryker hip that may need to be removed, contact Anapol and his team of hip implant lawyers today.
