Teen Driving Remains In Focus During Global Youth Traffic Safety Month

Comments Off

Distracted Driving Awareness did not end on April 30th. Teen driving habits remain in focus throughout May with Global Youth Traffic Safety Month.

In honor of this, NOYS, the National Organization for Youth Safety, known for engaging and empowering Young people to get involved as ambassadors and advocate for safer, healthier, habits for teens, joined with a TV and Sports Stars to spread the word to their fans, especially young people via messages on their facebook and twitter accounts. This campaign is appropriately named “Million Messages in May” in the hopes that fans will re-tweet and repost these messages along to their friends and reach over a million people.

Bryton, James, of CBS’s Daytime Soap, “The Young and the Restless” believes that if everyone sent a message in support of traffic safety, at least once a day, lives will definitely be saved.

Often, texting and mobile devices are to blame for traffic accidents in which the driver was distracted. But, with this campaign, we can show that social networking, the internet, and smart phones can have a positive impact in the fight against distracted driving when used at the appropriate time and place.
