A Philadelphia area construction worker almost lost his leg this afternoon when a large rock fell on his leg while working on the Lafayette Building around 5th and Chestnut Streets in the Center City District.
The injured worker, whose name has not yet been released was rushed to Jefferson University Hospital following the 1:00pm accident.
Medics report that the falling rock caused a 90% amputation of the 47-year-old man’s leg.
