Passengers on the Calvary Coach bus that crashed in Boston last month reunited on Saturday for the first time since the accident. Members of the Destined for a Dream Foundation who were well enough to meet gathered together at the non-profit group’s office in Bucks County, where they talked about healing after the incident.

“We laughed, we talked and we celebrated life," organization leader Erica Waller-Hill told NBC10 Philadelphia, "because it could've looked so much different.”

Seventeen-year-old Matthew Cruz is the only bus passenger still in the hospital. He remains in critical condition and is recovering from severe spinal cord injuries at Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Commercial vehicle accident attorney Jim Ronca has filed a lawsuit on behalf of Cruz and his mother as medical bills continue to mount to fix numerous vertebrae fractures, a shattered vertebra that sent bone fragments into his spinal canal, and the subsequent medical conditions resulting from his injuries.

Cruz’s fellow Destined for a Dream members are supporting him as he recovers. "We're in his corner," Waller-Hill said. "We're rooting for him and we're the biggest cheerleaders from the sideline."

The driver of the bus was transporting 33 students and nine chaperones home from a trip to Harvard University when he missed height-limit warning signs and slammed into an overpass on a major Boston roadway.
